The Last Bus Outta Nowhere

Summary: Billy finally gets money to get out of Odessa. Amerie is trying to decide what bus to get on to leave Odessa.

"You've gotta be kidding me," Billy muttered as he looked at the queue that was at the buss station. Apparently Jimmy hadn't lied to him that this place was a total shit hole. The city or town or whatever wasn't that big, yet he found himself in the largest crowd he'd seen here yet. Apparently, with the explosion, everybody wanted to get the hell outta Dodge. Hecocked his head to the side as he tried to figure out why people said that. It probably had something to do with history. Most likely the 1800s. He cursed under his breath. Stupi-
"Get a move-on, dammit!" a voice behind him shouted. He jumped in surprise and looked around, realizing there was at least ten feet between him and the person in front of him in line. He shook his head and moved forward. After a little while, he finally made it to the ticket office.
"One for your next bus to New York City. One way, please," he said to the cashier.
"One hundred-eighty dollars, please," the muffled electronic voice of the speaker said. Billy cursed, nodded and shelled out the stolen bills to the man. The man looked at him for a moment before handing him his ticket. Billy smiled and thanked him before walking over to the large lot where a fleet of buses sat, idling away.
He was going home soon.
