Pietro gave his sister a Look - 'what's your name?' indeed, Wanda, great move there - and turned to Sophie.

"We know you can do something," he said bluntly. "Something like being extraordinarily fast, human flight, maybe some sort of vision thing. Admittedly we don't know the details, but we know you can do it. And we're not here to hurt you or anything, we just need to warn you, there's this company out there who hunts down people like us. We need to be careful."

She'd been Sophie Sparks on the record. Huh. Must've hooked up, or something.

A hint of worry flickered across Sophie's face, but only for an instant- after that, her expression, never particularly open, closed completely.

"I don't know what you're talking about," she said flatly, and moved to close the door.

Pietro shrugged.

"Okay, you can lie, that's cool. You might want to work on your facial expressions, though. I've had to go into Wanda's workplace often enough that I picked out how to tell someone's lying, especially about something that really freaks them out. Laywers are good for something."

It might have helped their position if Pietro hadn't kept giving away the details he did...but...she couldn't blame him for being impatient, after all.

She placed her palm on the door, pressing with enough force to halt the closing of the door.

"We're on your side, Sophie."

It looked like Sophie wasn't going to get out of this conversation so easily. Well, she could always shut the woman's fingers in the doorjamb, but she had just enough benefit-of-the-doubt for them not to do that.

Her expression remained hard and inimical. "How did you find me?" she demanded- obviously they weren't buying that she didn't know about this.
