Candice had been drifting in and out of herself all morning. She couldn't decide if she wanted to find Amerie first, run a warrant on Wanda Maximoff or, better yet do another check on the Crucifixionist's victims. Every step involved changing something about herself, but only one set of features kept coming back to her every time she turned to the mirror.

It wasn't just a dream but you're useless to the Company if you can't remember him properly.

When her phone rang, she nearly jumped out of her skin, thinking it was Thompson, thinking the investigation was over and they'd made a decision.

Stupid girl, if they decide to cancel you, they won't do it over the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey," Jimmy rubbed at the side of his face, glancing over at the dozing form in front of him. "You won't believe the morning I'm having."

She wanted to smile but his voice tipped her off. "What's wrong?"

"Giraffe's in the hospital. I have no idea how to reach his parents, I tried calling his house but no answer." he sighed.
