"No, you can have it. I should go home, and get ready for, you know...school." Kirin backed away toward the exit of the playground with every intention of leaving. There was no way he was turning his back to Creepy Playground Guy until there was considerable distance between them.
"My-my parents are probably waiting for me, breakfast..." Kirin stumbled over the words of his lie, talking just to try to keep himself from freaking out.
"Aren't you getting ready for school now?" He asked, not needing to raise his voice much to allow it to carry across the silent playground. He didn't move yet, save to slide his hands into his pockets. There wasn't anywhere the boy could hide, so he could afford a good distance between them before he needed to follow.
Oh, and follow he would, because there was no guarantee he would find anyone else tonight, and he was desperately bored.
"My parents go to work early." Kirin answered quickly, already an arm's distance from the fence that seperated the playground from the street. "So, yeah, bye. It's been...uncomfortable."
Once Kirin was on the other side of the fence he turned and began to walk purposefully away, occasionally glancing over his shoulder to see if he was being followed.
He waited a good thirty seconds, watching as the boy navigated away from him, before pushing off of the set and following after, dark form melding with the shadows as he walked, purposefully eating away the distance between them with long strides.
He was content for the moment simply to follow the boy and see where he went, until of course the boy noticed that at least one shadow following him was more than a hypersensitive paranoia.
This one would be all too quick and easy, it seemed. Still, it was better than nothing.
Kirin was halfway home before it sunk in that he was in fact, being followed. His hope that his adopted father would be on his way out of the door was dashed when he saw that both of his parents' vehicles were gone. Shit.
His hand went for the cellphone in his pocket as he walked past his house and decided to walk toward Union Wells instead. The teachers who had to be their extra early should already be there, more people around, the bigger the chance he would be left alone.
