The rooftop had to be the best spot in all of New York. There was always such a feeling of safety being there. Like someone was watching over them. It was kind of a silly feeling to have, because she knew know one else came there. Well, besides Isaac, anyway.

...Well, except the pigeons. Which were actually what drew her attention from staring at the view. The birds were starting to enter and leave their cage. They were always so well taken care of.

Part of her still wanted to know how their arrival was possible.

"Been here for long?" she asked them with a smile. She knew they wouldn't answer, because they were pigeons, but it was still a nice idea if they did. "I have been," she told them with a small smile, "I've been coming up here since I was little. I know why you keep coming back."

Simone's voice startled Claude out of his thoughts. Was she yet someone else who could see him? Given the events of the past few days, Claude would wouldn't have been surprised that Simone was talking to him. It was more the timing that had him surprised. He wasn't exactly in a sharing mood, truth be told, especially after his encounter with Sophie. So all Claude did was silently look at Simone for a few moments rather than answer her.

Claude really didn't want to leave New York but it was looking like he would have to.

Simone continued to stare at the pigeons. Sometimes talking to someone, even someone who couldn't talk back, was such a good feeling. A good way to vent.

"The rooftop is freeing, isn't it?" she asked them, answering her own question from before. She snuck a little closer to the cage and watched them. If she were to try and pet them, she wondered if they bit. Do birds bite? Or maybe it was just peck.

"Don't peck me if I try and pet you," she told them. Her fingers brushed along side the cage but she didn't attempt to pet them...yet.

Watching Simone, Claude began to suspect she was talking to the pigeons. The "Don't peck me" comment confirmed it.

Well that was one bit of good news. Just to be sure, Claude made a silly face at Simone. If she could see him, there was no way she wouldn't comment at it.
