"No." His voice was firm, stronger than it had been lately. "No. Six months back. For God's sake, I went maternity shopping with you." Something he hadn't been planning on letting go for awhile.
He ran another hand through his hair, and stepped back to the table, gripping it for support. "This doesn't...can't be."
"Six months ago we went shopping for my father," she offered. He'd probably been high then, although he hadn't acted like he was, but now she wondered. Pain flickered across her face at the thought of her father. He was getting weaker. He'd be gone within months. "Dad caught a cold again," she remarked offhand. "I should probably buy him some more warm clothes."
She turned her attention back to Isaac, "What can't be?"
He wasn't listening to her all that much, how ever it was possible...if it was...if it wasn't. It didn't matter. She was here now...and...not.
He leaned against the step-wall, and slid to the ground, bunching his hair in his hands, and shaking his head.
"This...isn't happening." The strength of before was replaced with all the hopelessness and lost he had been struggling through since he watched her vanish. Since the world had gone crazy and stolen the only thing that mattered.
Simone wondered if she should go to him. He needed something...someone... her, and as obviously high as he was, she was going to be there for him. They'd work it out.
She walked to him, side stepping the mess on the floor and knelt down next to him, placing a hand on his arm, "Are you okay?" she asked, softly.
He shook his head miserably. "No. Obviously." He sighed. This wasn't fair. This...was worse than losing her entirely...it was...mockery, insult...torment.
