"What?" Simone stared at him incredulously. "One time thing?" She repeated the words out loud, hoping they'd sound less insane. They didn't. "You've been doing drugs for months, Isaac." She wondered if he was finally beginning to lose it.
She took a step back, unconsciously, and just looked at him, frowning. He really was worse than he'd been yesterday when she'd stormed out, ignoring his pleas to come back. Maybe she should have.
"Look, we both know you've been high multiple times this week alone, we wont argue this." Simone didn't think she had it in her to argue about something she hated so much. He'd recently tried his first time in rehab. It didn't stick. She wasn't giving up hope, but listening to him...
"And what twins?" Simone added, confused. She didn't know any twins.
He took a step back, shaking his head. "What twins? Simone!" He swept an arm out to indicate the failed nursery "Ours? And it's been a pretty crazy week, but given that you weren't here for most of it, I don't even know how you'd even be able to say that."
Another step, and a shake of his head. "What's going on?"
"What?!" Simone said, shaking her head, unbelieving. "We never were going to have a baby, let alone twins." With the way he was currently acting, she didn't know if she'd want to right now. "And I have been here. All week. Begging you not to shoot up."

"I haven't touched it in six months, Simone." He shook his head, running a hand through his hair, mind laboring to take in...everything. And...
"Where..."
He made a vague motion.
"What...the twins?"

He was starting to scare her now.
"I'd like to know what's going on, too, Isaac."
