Some entertainment...

Recently, I was friended by a spambot, and they seem to be posting quite a story here. I'm going to keep on copying and pasting the story as it is written. True, it is very poorly done, but I think it will give readers a good laugh. I am not friendslocking this entry, on purpose, in order for people to read the story. You never know, this could be ( Read more... )

Wait, what? Is this on LiveJournal, or what?

Looks like lenidki is now doing the same. I googled part of one of its posts and found this.

Interesting. I've been friend by one "niguhr" who's posting fragments of that same story along with the occasional scam ad for weight loss or get-rich-quick schemes. From the content of the other entries here, it seems to be going around.

Whatever any of you do, do NOT friend these things back. At the best, they're there to post those scam ads to your friends page. At worst, they're Portal of Evil types and you'll soon find your friendslocked entries plastered all over the 'net.

Random. I just got added by a bot, jametk and was googling the only entry that 'they' have made and this is the only result.

Hate bots - but this one is taking a rather unique approach!

Yeah, it's very odd, because I've never been friended by a spambot before. There's more that this one posts, but it's just soliciting things for people to work at home and online.

I agree, this is very interesting.

It's certainly a new tactic for them to take anyway! :)

Same here. How's this benefiting anyone, besides us readers of their awesome tales?

This was...awful? Confusing? Pointless?
Although the phrase 'manly treasure' gave me some major LOLZ.
I also liked the ending where a person can apparently take a shitload of pills and provide their own medical attention ;P

I completely agree; it's horribly written, but it made me LOL so hard.

Actually, the person keeps writing more to it. I've sent them messages and asked who they were and I got no reply. lol.

These are obviously spambots. I got added by someone by the name of kaliders back in Feb. I asked how they knew me and about 17 of my friends list as well (most of the journals they friended were inactive btw) and got no reply. I didn't add them back.

They tried again this morning. I posted a rather pointed reply after they replied to a couple queries from other people. Let's see if they bite.

Stumbled on your journal googling the text in rljunotr's journal... How bizarre that there's something doing this on multiple journals! Same pictures and everything and yep, ads for working at home, etc.

This is happening in multiple journals? That's extremely bizarre. Do you think it's the same person?
