Last night I had an evocative dream. I had houseguests - university friend Johan and my ex Ola from Stockholm, along with childhood friend Nanci were the most prominent. I am afraid of heights. A few steps up a ladder is enough to give me vertigo. Thus, I am very proud to have gone all the way up our roof for the first time ever today. The roof tiles needed washing and not even the high-pressure washer could reach way up there from the ground.

Stockholm didn't freak me out as much today. I still had a familiar, creepy feeling in the subway - the feeling that I recognized every face, but couldn't place the person as an old school friend, colleage, lover, or random person I often used to sit across from on the train - but I was able to concentrate more on my family and getting where we ( Read more... )

 It looks like my stomach bug was plain old food-poisoning and the fever and sore throat are unrelated, because this morning the sore throat is more of a slimy throat and a cough and the fever has gone up. Michelle's observation isn't completely inaccurate - our evenings certainly are colorful; pale blue meets pink and gold earlier every night, but not early enough to awaken the dread of winter. Not yet.

I've been avoiding you...
