GOSH, HOW ROMANTIC.

Wonderful language in this story. Particularly: There’s something so beautiful in murder.

This is a great conclusion about their relationship. As usual, you demonstrate a great understanding of their twisted dynamic.

THEY'RE PSYCHO. What can I say. Twisted is a great description of them as a couple.

Let me see if I can distill it for you. In a nutshell, it's about rival crime families in the 1930s in New York and Chicago. But it's also about alchemy and secrets and people who talk way too much for their own good and violence and family ties and accountability.

And there's a lot of comic relief.

At heart, it's a look at American mobster families in the '30s -- with all the appropriate historical and film archetypes -- as seen through the filter of anime.

There's a really good commentary track on the DVD set with Bryan Massey, who voices Ladd, with discussion on the Ladd/Lua relationship dynamic. It's worth listening to.

Wow, what an incredibly messed-up relationship. Well done getting that level of scariness across in just 100 words!

Thank you! I keep wondering whether or not you'd like the series. It's so chock-full of gore, but at the same time it's absolutely great and a ridiculous amount of fun. I almost feel guilty for liking it so much.
