~*~*~*~*
Staring at the door, she tries to figure out what has brought her here; other than this invisible power, forcing her to leave her apartment, even thought it is Christmas Eve. She’s tired and can hardly keep her eyes open, and yet she knows that she wouldn’t find any sleep tonight.
Too much has happened that doesn’t make sense; other than in a disturbing, confusing way that would keep her awake all night.
She knows she can’t stay at home after what she’s experienced tonight. The things she’s seen in her life ever since she’s started working with Mulder are the main reason why sleeping has been so hard for her lately, as her mind keeps trying to make sense of something that, rationally speaking, couldn’t make any sense at all.
She’s learned to trust her education, her instincts, but with Mulder none of these ever work- despite standing in front of that door tonight; her instincts have brought her here, leaving her helpless and weak; and her last attempt to tell herself that it is him who shouldn’t be alone tonight, while, in reality, it’s here whose heart is longing for him, dies as she knocks at the door.
