1] I love the mix of the subtle 'there's an axe in the background' and the surreal 'but look at this pretty snail!' distraction. The next time you look up, the axe will have gone.
2] Wonderful photo :) I love the background, and the b&w really works. It's the kitty's expression that makes it, though. Eerily calm.
3] Gets my vote because the colour and perspective make this a really striking photo, and definitely very Halloweeny!

You should be able to see it, since it's public, but here it is again:

I should have mentioned that cokie titled her own photo, so I took the liberty of naming yours and spunkymuffinz' for ease of identification; hope that's okay.

I think I like Jack O'Landscape best as a representation of Halloween. Wherever did you find that many pumpkins?

The cat is a lovely snake-eyed black, and she's nice in B/W, but since I have my own black cat purring on my lap every evening, the idea of scary and Halloween is not linked with black cats for me :-)

And even if the snail is not at all Halloweeny at all, I kinda liked the effect of the fuzzy axe in the background. Ok, it's mine, so I'm biased ;-)

There was a pumpkin festival where they were trying to beat the record for most jack-o-lanterns lit at once. I was surprised at first when people on the internet asked where would so many pumpkins be because here in New England, they're a very common occurance. Glad I could spread some cool traditions with people who don't get to see 'em. :)

The tradition of Halloween spreads over slowly. For some years now you can get clay / stoneware pumpkins to light a candle in and set on the porch. I only did a real pumpkin once in my life.

I like that the custom spreads over, although I bet the little kids who go "trick or treating" over here don't know what it means, or what the "trick" would be if the treat was withheld :-)

1) I like how the axe is just there and like if you don't notice it you will get killed kinda feeling

2) The cat is very cute, however my best friend has a black cat so the idea of them being scary or what have you doesn't really work for me....and the cat looks insanely friendly.

3) gets my vote I love pumpkins, I love jack o lanterns and whenever I think of pumpkins I automattically think of Fall and Halloween and jack o lanterns....where did you find so many in one location though? that intreges me
