Dear Livejournal,

Last semester was hellish. 6 classes: Statistics, Psychological Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Organizational Behavior Psychology, Criminal Law and Procedure, Criminal Ideology. T/Th I had class 1:40-5:45pm with no breaks, holy shit. I ended up with 3 Cs, 2 Bs and 1 A. Not the best semester but I survived and passed Statistics ( Read more... )

um. el oh el, our schedules are quite similar. how is experimental set up in buffalo? here we have about 10 weeks to set up an experiment, host it, etc. do you guys do it individually or in groups?
also, what made you decide to go for cj? I actually have a double major with those two. I wish we did something like the joint major or 2nd major thing you mentioned. that would make my life a teeny bit easier.

Yea I saw you say somewhere that you are in experimental. We get to do 4 laboratory reports(dunno really what that will involve), 3 tests, and a research proposal. My teacher doesn't do the whole group work thing but other profs do. I'll formulate a question, design a study for it, talk about what I might find out, and write it all up in a proposal. Then do an oral presentation on it. I think I might do something about birth order or vegetarianism.

I originally signed up as a CJ minor because I wasn't sure if I'd have time for a 2nd major. But it became obvious that I'll have plenty of time so I went for it. I have 7 classes left for fall+spring senior year, so I still have plenty of room for an internship in both majors if I wanted to plus extra classes for fun. I would have liked to do a double major and get two degrees because that probably would look really good, but I think this 1 degree two majors thing will look real good too. So do you have to complete like 150 credits for a double major?

You are lucky, we actually have to conduct the experiment. I'm glad we're given it as a group assignment though, it seems like it would be so much work individually. That would be really interesting actually, at least you have more freedom with what your research can be.

Well for my cj degree I need to have anywhere between 43 and 49 credits. And for psych I only need 36. So I need anywhere from 79-85 credits to complete both majors but we have a TON of requirements and other crap, like foundation courses and general education requirements... I have no idea what they total up to though, they're credited so awkwardly.
