General Pace controversy

So apparently some General dude said that he thought that homosexuality was wrong and that he was against people being openly gay in the military. So now a bunch of democrats and pro-gay groups are in an uproar demanding that he apologize for his statements, but he is not doing so as of yet ( Read more... )

Don't ask don't tell supports baseless gay phobias and is equivalent to the "seperate but equal" standards created after the civil war. You can't seperate or hide a minority and then claim you're supporting them ( ... )

Regardless, people shouldn't have apologies demanded of them whenever they say that they support DADT. Sure, DADT might not be the best thing out there, but until it's repealed in '09 (You know it's gonna happen!), then gays can keep it to themselves. Your sexuality should be on a need-to-know basis, and one's fellow soldiers don't need to know!

I understand that and I do agree that he should not need to appologize for choosing the status quo as a political platform- people on both sides have been overreacting some and that's not good ( ... )
