General Pace controversy

Mar 13, 2007 13:15

So apparently some General dude said that he thought that homosexuality was wrong and that he was against people being openly gay in the military. So now a bunch of democrats and pro-gay groups are in an uproar demanding that he apologize for his statements, but he is not doing so as of yet.

I think that this guy needs to betch-slap these people and stand by what he says! He's not going out there and saying that all gays need to die and that the government should gas every homo. He's not even saying that they shouldn't serve in the military! He's just supporting Don't Ask, Don't Tell. I personally see nothing wrong with DADT, and see no reason why it should be so hard to just not tell anyone that you like the cock. Does that mean that I need to issue some apology for being anti-gay?

What I find most hypocritical about this whole situation was someone saying that "he's saying things that are against the majority's opinion". How dare ANY pro-gay person use majority rule as justification for anything when only a few short decades ago you were burned at the stake for even thinking gay thoughts!

I honestly applaud General Pace for sticking to his guns like this in this age of political games.
