evaluation of 2008 goals

Here were my goals for last year:

House

Replace sewer line. Done.

Fix family room ceiling, which still has water damage from days of leaky roof. Finish replacing all fences. Both done.

Replace grout in kitchen & bath tiles. (It's starting to crumble and it was the wrong color anyway.) I'll probably end up doing a few other cosmetic fixes to kitchen and bath at the same time. Okay, so I didn't get around to these, but I did do some major work in living room and Lehi/Lemuel's room.

Writing:
Finish Prep book & get on market. Finish Preschool science book so it's no longer on my project list. Really, that should be so easy...
Ha. Well, the prep book is almost to the point where I am ready to print it out and edit the hard copy--really, almost done! And I made big strides on my YA novel. Considering what else I did this year, though, it shouldn't come as a surprise that I had reduced writing time.

Motherly:
Spend some one-on-one alone time with each child each week. We do a lot of family stuff, but one-on-one time has been in short supply.
I didn't track this one but I did much better in 2008 than I did in 2007.

Wifely:
Be as good about making time to be with my husband as I was in 2006. We really slacked off this year. Whoops.

Personal:
Exercise: aerobic, stretching, and strength-building. I did up the aerobic exercise, though not as much as I wanted. Anything is better than nothing, right?
Be diligent about reading my scriptures, both on my own & with ZooDada.
I'm still not up to daily reading, though I did make it through the BoM again.
Go to the temple at least twice. (Some day this will be a monthly endeavor, but I'm not ready for that yet.)Here, at least, I excelled. I made ten visits to the temple this year. Excellent! And still not enough for me...

Misc:
Finally, finally, get around to filming the instructional video-on-demand thingie for SNAP. (I finished the script in May.) Another whoops. My partner-in-crime for this fell by the wayside, as his wife was first undergoing chemo, then radiation therapy. C. finally assigned me a new partner-in-crime in December.

So all in all, I didn't score too high...but I still think it was an exceptional year for me. My best accomplishments were based on goals I set in April/May re: grad school.
