You must have an extremely large number of friends because the probability that three of your friends would die in such a short time frame has to be extremely low otherwise. Unless you tend to make friends with people who regularly engage in dangerous behaviors or activities. Either way, I'm sorry for you losses. *hugs tight*
But at least your career path seems to be looking up. I am sure you will do well.
I would plead with you not to vote for Obama, though I am glad that you still care enough to vote even if you are disgruntled by the current political system. Please consider that decision carefully. By just about every objective economic measure, the country has done poorly all 4 years of Obama's presidency and there are no signs that it is getting any better. In fact, there are signs that it will get a lot worse if congress doesn't act. History also shows that every president's second term was WORSE than the first. So if you don't like the way things are now, you really wont like how they are in 4 more years if Obama gets re-elected.
As for the sex life, well, I'm in the same boat and it's probably going to remain that way forever. But I probably wouldn't mind helping you out with your occasional manfolk cravings for mutually beneficial reasons ;)
*hugs* thanks...I've mentioned the circumstances of their deaths. All of them were far too untimely...
Regarding the election: while I'm far from pleased with the job Obama's done, by and large, one needs to remember that he inherited Bush's complete fuck-up of the economy, and has been dealing with an utterly antagonistic and uncooperative legislature. And many of the deeply troubling decisions he's implemented in his tenure, like indefinite detention and assassination of American citizens? Yeah, we'd be seeing the same from the other guys. As I've probably said to you before, while I don't agree with all of Goldwater-era Republicanism, I can respect their ideas and positions. The current Republican party is centered around confrontation, willful ignorance, religious fundamentalism, hatred of anyone who's not a straight white wealthy Christian male, and a maturity level pandering to the average third-grader. As much as I am averse to some aspects of Obama's presidency, we simply cannot afford to have these people in power. And with an Obama presidency, I suspect we'll see mild, but gradual improvement in the economy--recovery from a deep recession does not happen overnight, regardless of whom is in power.
That said, both parties are ultimately two faces of the same horrible entity, and under the rule of either one, we'll see the rich become richer and the poor, poorer. It simply happens that, at this point in history, the Republican party is more aggressive and blatant about it.

As for your last point--keep me posted ;)
