Today, I had the chance to speak with the program director and get answers to some of my questions. And by and large, things look pretty promising. She assuaged some of my worries about the particular application materials I need to submit, meaning that I'll have everything filled out and submitted within a week instead of a month.
This can't come soon enough, what with my stepdad doing a mental impersonation of the Titanic's maiden voyage...I still don't know if my parents will be moving back to the Midwest or not, but in any case I have no intention of being trapped there again--it was hard enough to get out the first time!
I'm also wondering (assuming I'd live somewhere that allows pets) about the possibility of bringing my cat along with me. Our dog would likely not be coming, as for one thing, she's closer to my stepdad than I, and for another he needs her more right now. Not to mention a cat will be easier to care for, given my busy schedule. I know some of you think less than highly of the family felidae, but you don't know this cat--she's practically a dog in a cat's body, and I mean that in the best of ways. While I'm not interested in her sexually, I do have a zoophilic attraction to her in the broader sense. So, we'll see what happens...
Lastly, I may have something to look forward to in a few days--can't be more specific than that for now, though!
