Checking in...
So what's going on? A lot, and not very much.
I just found out that my mother's effectively out of a job...she works at a small company with a couple of clownboats for coworkers and an older boss who may be going senile. Predictably, their company is not doing well, and so they first were going to implement a ~15% paycut. Painful, but worth sticking with in this economy IMHO. However, now they're cutting it down to 50% of what she made. Game over...she's starting to look for other jobs now. Since my stepfather's body is basically falling apart, he can't work. Even if we lose the house though--which hopefully we won't--there is almost no fucking way we have any intention of moving back where we came from. I'd rather live in a hovel in my current state than a mansion in my previous one.
Classes, however, are mostly going well. I'm pretty sure my exam Thursday is going to go badly, but that's okay since they drop the lowest one, and my first was quite good. The weather turned a bit crappier (= warmer and with more rain on the way) from what it's been, which sucks a bit.
My take on Obama thus far: apparently not an untouchable, godlike savior to the masses, but I really don't have any complaints about him thus far. He's playing a pretty good hand for the cards he's been dealt; what worries me is the fact that, in some card games, even the world's best player may not be able to overcome a really crappy hand.
I've been procrastinating on studying for exams by cleaning my room. The massive tidal wave of empty boxes, dirty clothes, and papers has now been reduced to about 10' square of stuff, mostly papers and miscellany that I need to find places for. A lot of stuff's under my bed, a decent bit in my closet and drawers. I really do need to start sending stuff home...when the weather warms up a bit and I won't need my warmer clothes, which I never wear anyway, I'll send those home too!
So I guess on the whole, in spite of my mother's job woes, the economy, and a rough week of classes, I'm actually in decent spirits. Of course, a good pegging from a horny male dog would improve my mood dramatically, nonetheless :)
