So this is the e mail my dad sent me back after I updated him on our adventures in potential kidnap witnessing:
"What I am writing here is not meant to scare you or your boyfriend, or dog, for that matter. It is professional, loving advice to just be careful and be very situationally aware. If homicide dicks are talking to you, it could be that based on description, the vehicle, etc.- that these guys may have been involved in prior homicides and that's why the heavy interest. Send me the name of the homicide dick. I'll have some of my fed buddies check it out. Love, dad."

Hey, if I had fed friends to hit up? I would, too. Also, let's be honest: I am way more likely to get murderized by my vengeful ex boss right now than I am capped over random street violence. It's usually someone you know!

eta: oh, yeah. per the local news, someone did turn up dead and dumped on Sunday, but it's almost certainly not the same lady.
