"So, you want me to come out now," Gary Seven responded incredulously. The problem with having an Aegis cat was when that cat was so protective she wouldn't let him go out when he could have been of help.
But she could see things that he couldn't, not without the help of a computer anyway. Isis never steered him wrong, and occasionally her well meaning petulance panned out well for everyone in the end.
But he couldn't help think about that damned cat as he got ready to finally go out. And how somehow she'd managed to lock him in so even he couldn't escape.
It seemed that most things were being cleaned up, though it didn't settle him much. Especially as he couldn't contact his superiors and warn them of such a virus existing. Or warn them of such a place existing or much of anything else.
So he just wound up roaming the promenade, black cat draped happily across his shoulders as if that was just where she belonged.
