Today we are just all over the place. Rapid cycling from okay to miserable without much semblance of a reason. I fell asleep last night at 7pm. I expected to be back up around midnight and unable to sleep, but I was so miserable I had to just cut it off and try a reboot. Instead I woke up around 9am. Not entirely rebooted. I got up and read LJ and DW, then I putzed around RN. I did some art, and well once again I don't remember what I did with most of the day.
Katrina was supposed to come at 10 and she never showed up. I texted her, called her, and FB Messenger'd her. Not only did she never get back to me, but the "read" alert never showed up on either the texts or the FB messenger. So I am really concerned that she was like in an accident on the way to my house or something happened to her.
I went back to bed at 11 and stayed there until 1:30. Then I got up and ate some lunch and fed my dogs because Rogue would not take her pill out of my hand again, and I put it in her food bowl and she continued to just sniff at it until I covered it with food. I hope she doesn't continue getting smarter than this pill. I have literally nothing left to try.
I had just finished the day's quordle when my alarm went off to go to volunteer. I got dressed and drove out there, my GPS taking me a circuitous route I can only assume went past even worse traffic than what I ended up in. I got there for the last few minutes of recess, and then went upstairs.
No one had any homework today, so I spent the first two periods playing a boardgame, and the 3rd period coloring a picture of the Avengers. I realized that I have mostly forgotten what colors the Avengers wear. Alas. Kevin would be ashamed of me. Anyway, we basically just played around and then went home.
I stopped by Wendy's on the way home. They were out of my spicy chicken sandwiches, but I got a regular chicken sandwich. Then I came home and ate, and then talked a little to Victor, who is going to a concert tonight of a band called Drakha Brakha from Ukraine. Most Ukrainian men are not allowed out of the country right now, in case they are needed, but I guess when you are a celebrity, things are different. I either really like or really hate all of Dakha Brakha's music - there is no in between.
I read a little bit - three chapters of different books. Then I realized that I actually have an additional 6 weeks to read my book club book since next time we're doing poetry, and I forgot about that. This means I need to read 3 chapters a week, not 5, which is good news for me since that's still a lot more than I typically read in a week of any one given book.
I picked up not one but two new books from BOTM - one I had said I was going to pick up whenever it came out and was glad for the reminder and another one that just looked interesting. The first is a retelling of a Hindi myth and the second takes place at a school for the Deaf and is a coming of age story. I got two books despite the 14 that I haven't yet read from BOTM. I used to keep up with this, but not so much since Kevin got sick. I read so much less now, it is absolutely pathetic.
My two short entries in a row for the past two days mean that I will not reach 110k for the year writing by the end of this month, but hopefully I will get 108k and it will be fine to continue on. I'll either make that up by the end of the year, or I won't. Depends on what I decide about NaNo and what NaNo decides about in person write ins.
