Ghosts Of The Abyss: Chapter 26

ZeldaQueen: Back to the Sporking Chamber for now, just because you all have to see this thing. Behold this chapter, in which Gethesemane shows just how horrible she is.

Also, it's pretty much just one long train of "What the Fuck" from here on out, so the drinking game is pretty much done. Drink as much as you need to end the pain

Chapter 26

Katherine

A silence had fallen over the crew, a frightened silence.

ZeldaQueen: Poor frightened silence! The fall must have scared it *pets it*

Jack and I looked over to find that many of them were staring at the base of the main mast, to which an old nemesis was tied. Calypso glared, cursing at my uncle, as she was bound within the fetters of rope.

"Do you think that this can chain me?" she hissed. "You must keep your end of the bargain, or you shall return to the Land of the Dead!"

ZeldaQueen: Lady, just do it! He's clearly not going to keep his bargain, so send him back to the dead. Hell, it would also be the perfect way to twist in the knife for Kate. You killed her Sue spawn, so kill off her precious Uncle. Clearly he's one of the few things standing in your way of killing her! C'mon, I'm on your side here! Work with me!

She turned her head, her dark eyes piercing mine with such unabashed hatred that it chilled my very core.

ZeldaQueen: Hot damn, Calypso is awesome!

I, however, stood my ground, not even daring to flinch, and returned her glare with as much hatred as I could muster. I hated her, loathed her, for everything she had done;

ZeldaQueen: (Gethesemane) "Existing in canon, stealing my...I mean Kate's precious Davy Jones..."

she had killed in cold blood due to simple jealousy. She was unable to comprehend that there were others in the world, yet in her own, she was its center, its sun, around which everything else revolved.

ZeldaQueen: *laughs until she nearly falls out of her chair* OH MY GOD! That's coming from Kate? Hell, that's coming from Gethesemane, Miss "I'm Killing Off All Canon Romantic Rivals" Butler?

Sirena had shown her differently, and she was killed mercilessly for it. Calypso had murdered two children, Sirena's son and my own unborn child, to get her revenge.

Just as I would have mine.

ZeldaQueen: *rolls eyes* You want to make it more obvious you're enjoying this, Gethesemane?

Sheathed at my side was a dagger, stained with blood of enemies long since dead. Removing myself from Jack's arms, I walked down the stairs toward her. I unsheathed the dagger and then held it to her throat, enjoying the sight of her wincing as the cold, stained metal caressed her dark skin.

ZeldaQueen: Yep, Gethesemane's definitely enjoying this

"Tell them all, Calypso," I said loudly. "Tell them all how you murdered the wife and son of Davy Jones! Tell them all how you murdered my own unborn child!"

Gasps and murmurs raced through the crew.

ZeldaQueen: PIRATES. WOULDN'T. CARE!

Uncle Barbossa had made to stop me from placing the blade on her throat, but he had since stepped back. There was no surprise or anger on his face; it instead remained expressionless, yet in his eyes I could see the veil of indecision. He was undecided about his aim of releasing Calypso, knowing that it could mean my death.

ZeldaQueen: *screams* WHAT IS HIS MOTIVATION? I'm dead serious here! Why is he so determined to release Calypso? It's like he's desperate to cling to whatever shards of canon are left or something! For the love of fuck Gethesemane, if you're going to rebuild fandoms in your own image, at least have it make sense!

"Tell them!" I screamed at her, forcing the blade closer against her skin.

Trickles of dark crimson had begun to stream down from beneath the blade.

"So she does have blood! Perhaps I should spill it all to be certain that this is not a trick!"

"No!" she screamed, terror in her eyes and voice.

"Why not?" I demanded. "You've killed four people; why should I spare your life?"

ZeldaQueen: Because it kind of contradicts your whole "I'm going to save the sea!" mission? Seriously, how is killing Calypso any different than Beckett ordering Jones to destroy the Kraken?

Oh wait, Gethesemane missed the point of that as well. Never mind, carry on

"Because I can never die!"

ZeldaQueen: Point there

"If you could not die, then you would not be afraid of this -" I hissed as I pressed the blade harder against her skin.

She cried out as more blood began to trickle.

ZeldaQueen: This is sick. Gethesemane's actually writing her avatar as torturing a fictional character who she hates by virtue of being with another fictional character that she has a thing for. SICK!

"Kate, stop this!" Uncle cried.

"No!" I screamed. "This won't stop until I say so! And I will say so when her blood stains this deck!"

ZeldaQueen: (Kate) AND THEN I SHALL TWIRL MY MUSTACHE AND DECLARE MYSELF FAIREST IN THE LAND! MWAH HA HA!"

"You cannot kill a goddess," Uncle said.

"True," I answered, "but she's not a goddess, now is she?"

ZeldaQueen: Well...Gethesemane's been rather sticky on that, hasn't she? Apparently she still has her powers and all.

Speaking of which, where did Calypso's powers go? C'mon, fry the Sue with lightning!

I turned to her again. She winced, her chest heaving, pure terror etched in her eyes as her body trembled. I enjoyed every moment of it.

ZeldaQueen: Um Gethesemane? This doesn't make me think that Kate is awesome and badass. That makes me think she's psychotic. Actually, it also makes me think that you are psychotic, given how Kate is your avatar

"We all have seen how cruel you can be," I whispered to her. "Now you will see how cruel I can be."

"What...what are you going to do?"

Even her voice trembled!

ZeldaQueen: BITCH!

I smiled wickedly. "You'll see."

But before I could act any further, a sharp roar of thunder pierced the otherwise still morning. I looked up to find that one mast of one of the Council member's ships had been shattered by enemy fire.

The battle had begun.

ZeldaQueen: Oh yeah, the plot? Remember that? Weren't you blathering about saving the seas or whatnot? Go fight Beckett instead of engaging in cold-blooded torture

Jack began to bark orders, just as the crew hurried to obey them. The other ships had begun to return fire, and Jack ordered all hands to cannons. I hurried to the helm, to Jack's side. He looked at me, a mixture of astonishment and some undefinable emotion in his eyes.

ZeldaQueen: Disgust, I'd imagine. If I was married to someone who just tortured someone and enjoyed it, that's how I'd look at them

"What's come over you?" he whispered, referring to my confrontation of Calypso.

ZeldaQueen: She's always been this crazy, Jack. She's just showing her true colors here

"I will avenge our child's death, Jack," I murmured in return. "She caused the miscarriage. She caused Sirena's death, and Jacob's. She is the reason for all of this."

ZeldaQueen: (Kate) "Canon! She's the reason for it! I will kill her and the fandom will be ALL MINE!" *giggles madly*

He seemed to understand. "You're a pirate. I wouldn't expect any less from you."

ZeldaQueen: He...yes. He understands torture. You know, I'm aware that torture was a well-accepted practice amongst pirates. But Gethesemane's done nothing but try to paint them as being honorable and good and noble. So fail

He smiled then. "You are your father's daughter."

ZeldaQueen: I find that rather hilarious, considering that Blackbeard was in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie and in that movie, Jack found Blackbeard to be dangerous and evil

I returned the gesture, but our eye contact was broken with another roar of thunder; the Brethren was returning fire. Jack and I looked over once more at the impending armada to find another ship had joined its ranks; the Dutchman, with its ghostly, glowing sails and terrifying figurehead, had surfaced, and was now sailing towards us.

ZeldaQueen: Is something actually going to happen? *is vaguely hopeful*

I gave the order to keep returning fire and to sail forth. The crew obeyed, and we steadily sailed forth into battle. The sky had darkened to an inky blackness. A burst of lightning struck the water, just as the latter began to darken and swirl into a titanic maelstrom. Thunder groaned overhead as rain began to pour.

ZeldaQueen: Um...what?

"Maelstrom!" yelled Gibbs, motioning towards the whirlpool.

ZeldaQueen: I'm sorry, this is happening how? In the movie, Calypso started the maelstrom because she just regained her divine status and used her control of the ocean to make a big storm in an attempt to kill everyone. Apparently one just sprang up randomly here, even though the weather was perfectly fine not two seconds prior. Did Gethesemane think that the storm just happened?

The Dutchman fired her guns upon us, and we returned her fire in an explosion of roundshot and roaring. Despite the storm, the Pearl continued towards her enemy with straitlaced determination.

ZeldaQueen: And with extremely boring prose

Upon the deck, confusion and pandemonium ensued when many crewmembers of the Dutchman emerged from the ship's masts and decks. My own crew charged, diving headlong into a heated battle as flintlocks raged and cutlasses gleamed with every lightening strike. Jack and I were soon overcome with the creatures as well, and we fought at one another's side as the creatures attacked mercilessly; we were still being bombarded with cannonfire as much as we could return it.

ZeldaQueen: I do so love how apparently Kate doesn't feel the least bit sorry that she's hurting and possibly killing Jones' crew. Oh she goes on about how Jones is under a curse, Jones is so put-upon but the rest of them? Eh, those clowns aren't played by Bill Nighly, so who cares?

I returned my enemy's blows with hardened ones of my own, but I was unaware that I had reached the top landing of the staircase leading to the deck. The creature before me - tall, with an eel's head - lunged, and, as I made to dodge his blow, I was sent tumbling down the stairs, until I had fallen at the bottom landing in a breathless heap.

ZeldaQueen: Much like how she falls onto her bed in a breathless heap, on a nightly basis.

I'm sorry

As soon as I had caught my breath, I jumped to my feet, and was shocked to find a prisoner standing before me.

Calypso smiled wickedly, a cutlass glinting menacingly in her hand.

ZeldaQueen: Oh my God, SOMETHING INTERESTING IS HAPPENING! THANK YOU, LORD!

"What were you saying about revenge, Kate?"

ZeldaQueen: Oh please dear lord do not fail me now!!! Kill her!
