Hello friends, I'm all better after that angryrant from the previous entry, so hallelujah for happier posts!
The month thus far:
- Prelims. Damn that shit was horrible, but surprisingly short. Then again, time passes at a ridiculous rate nowadays, so I'm just glad they're over for now.
- Our upper management doesn't have much EQ when it comes to dealing with adolescents. I suspect our age gaps make it difficult for them to understand how ridiculous it is to drop bombs of discouragement straight after our final paper.
- I had my last National Day in SC. It didn't feel very strange, somehow, knowing it was my tenth and final year. I've practically grown up in this school, so I guess it didn't really hit me then. More on that later, maybe, though I doubt I can put my thoughts together properly for a post on it.
- I watched G.I. Joe and Up over two consecutive days. A strange combination, but an enjoyable duo nonetheless. G.I. Joe was about as retarded as all action movies get, and Up made me cry like the sap I am. Oh Pixar.
- Bleach Marathon! With Laura and Mellie! It was amazing! And also terribly fattening! Also it is not advisable to sit in the range of Mellie's raging fists, as Laura fell victim to. We need another one, either before or after O's. In other news, I think I accidentally got Nat Chia into Bleach, solely because I had a Byakuya video as my MSN pm. Luck-Luck dance!
- I miss my other fandom. You know, the one with the shiny suits and hiprolls.
- School life has been nondescript and vaguely demoralizing. I'm glad at least that I get to resume my morning runs.
- Prelim results got back. I'm not necessarily satisfied, but relieved nonetheless.
- New layout. All I need now are fresh icons.
In the midst of my latest manga binge I've been reading ridiculous amounts of slash, and I have come to the conclusion that most of the time, yaoi is not meant to make any sense unless it's doujinshi, and even then some tend to stretch it a bit. Also, the Japanese have honestly, honestly scary fetishes. Either that or they're just really absurdly creative. In a scary way.
Still, there are some really good mangaka out there, like Nakamura Shungiku who is all sorts of awesome because her stories actually have plot and proper dialogue that doesn't solely involve the rejection of some seme's lecherous advances or cheesy declarations of love. Hybrid Child actually made me cry, and damn has it been long since I cried while reading anything at all. Therefore Nakamura-sensei = awesomecakes because other yaoi makes me cry inside due confusement and ridiculous storylines.
In other news, I have a bad feeling that all this yaoi may have permanently ruined het for me because I actually recoil from it nowadays. This may not be good.
