too many woman in one area (cramped makes it worse) will start to become antsy and hostile, going from arguing, yelling, to even to a point of violence.
but with your characters, the only one who i think would suffer from things like that is smoker or maybe charger, but mostly smoker.
now in l4d theres one woman in each game, they don't die, so woman won't die at the safe room in the beginning. but they will start to get angry with other woman if in a close area of each other for a too long of period of time
This one stood out to me particularly because the mental image of Charger flipping out and killing everyone because they're annoying was so bizarre. also kind of hilarious
then me and jazaaboo talked about charger going into weird fugue states or becoming feverish or confused and killing them all by accident because she thought they were infected or something and then waking up all WHAT HAVE I DONE

There were also a few generic LOL PMS or LOL RAPE!! jokes but eh they weren't particularly notable. One of the things that showed up actually that does kinda bother me is this fantheory that seems to be gaining a lot of traction that I don't particularly like.
In the Sacrifice comic, a doctor says that the gene for immunity is passed down via the father. Some people decided that hey, that means that the likelihood of a woman getting that gene is actually much lower than for a man since its recessive on the X or something, so it makes sense that there are so few women survivors. I don't really know a lot about human genetics myself, although I assume it's more complicated than Dominant/Recessive and a Punnett square, and it's not like Valve has said anything either way, but I just really do not like this theory at all. Maybe it does make perfect sense from a genetic in-world standpoint, heck I don't know, but what I really don't like about it is that it feels like a big meta justification for not creating more female characters. Like we need an excuse for zombie stories to be huge sausagefests!
I dunno, I just really don't like the idea. Maybe it's just me.

Anyway here I guess poor Jockey went on a possibly adrenaline fueled zombiemurder spree and has some trouble compartmentalizing it. It's creepy for her teammates when she just keeps laughing sure, and a bit sad if she laughs and apologizes or laughcries while she's killing zombies, but the creepiest is when she's completely stonefaced and silent while she does it, like an emotionless killing machine. What goes through her head? :O WILL WE EVER KNOW
She handles what's going on in various ways, although none of them are probably very healthy, haha.
I was kind of messing around with different styles here re: limbs and such, idk if it's obvious. I HAD A LOT OF FUN WITH THE LOOSE HAIRS ON HER BRAID IF YOU CAN'T TELL

The sort of broken music box-y bit before she actually starts singing. I just kind of picture a series of scribbly crayon drawings, just of Jockey being all happy with her friends and yay things are fine hurray! and then when it starts to break apart and get all discordant, some crayon zombie comes in the scene and eats whoever she's talking to, and the paper rips, and I guess it would cut to her lookin all crazy and such. IDK I dunno if anything can work past that sequence since the song is so specific. Unless I just did that part and then cut the rest

Charger comes across them somehow and makes the offer. Hunter and Smoker are both pretty paranoid and wary this time around, so aren't quite sure if they should take her up on it. BUT WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO LOSE REALLY
Smoker's hair is shorter here, I think to help her when she disguises herself as a guy for cons or the like. Later when she has a steady job with Charger she lets it grow out some more. :B She also has a string around her neck - she really wants a nice necklace, but can't afford one, so she keeps the string to remind herself that someday she's going to get one, even if she has to steal it. And again once she hooks up with Charger, she's finally able to afford some pearls she always had her eye on. :>

Actually I was coloring that one comic where Jockey flips out and there's a callback to Snatcher, and when I told illix I was putting a Snatcher ref in something, she was like IS GILLIAN THERE?!??! and i kind of thought that was a hilarious idea so here he is. Also this wouldn't really work for Psychopro or Griffin (although I actually don't think Griffin/Sparkles and the Ladies are survivors at the same time... I always think of it as one group being infected and the other immune. Although if they were both immune wow that'd be awkward if they met up with each other)
ANYWAY here Smoker forgets that Charger is too levelheaded to get amusingly angry or tell off some random guy, thus her plan to get Gillian in trouble did not work out.
I think one or two people have thought that Charger was a girl scout leader at first, haha.

Hunter actually is jealous, but in the way that you get when your friend makes a new friend and you feel a bit overlooked. I forget what brought up this idea, maybe a dream or something, but I got to wondering what they might look like as the other type of Special Infected. So Hunter as a Smoker, and Smoker as a Hunter. Doing this actually made it clear how closely tied their designs are to their eventual infections, which makes sense since these two started life as zombies and then I worked backwards, haha. It was sort of an interesting experiment though.
I was tempted to do Jockey as a Charger and Charger as a Jockey, but my mind balked at a cackling Charger and I ended up not doing it, haha. MAYBE LATER.
Might do them as each infected if I get bored, hmm.
As the L4D2 Smoker with more tongues coming out everywhere.

No idea who the guy on the left is but whatever, he's an extra. Anyway, Ray has no interest in Hunter romantically, for whatever reason (already in a relationship with a guy/girl, gay, celibate, asexual, just not interested, whatever) but either way, their relationship is strictly platonic. And it's probably the same situation with Jordan as well, in that he doesn't have any interest in her romantically. Her other friends though might have harbored feelings for her at one point, like David (I keep forgetting that Hunter had a friend called David as well, haha, that's going to come up later eventually) or some other random guys who pop up every now and then.

Actually this probably doesn't come as any surprise, but me and jazaaboo had been talking about what they'd be like in the Pokemon universe for a while. :B Particularly Charger, who we thought would make a natural Gym Leader. David would hang around her gym, and direct you to her if you thought he was the leader, and then when you beat her, he'd run over all ! to her side and ask if she was alright, and generally it'd be all adorable.
SO YOU CAN IMAGINE OUR SURPRISE WHEN LENORA IN BLACK AND WHITE SHOWED UP, WHO WAS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE WHAT WE'D IMAGINED FOR CHARGER it was the most bizarre thing I swear, haha
Anyway we pictured Charger becoming a wandering gym leader after you beat her, and you'd run across her at Pokemon migrations with David, studying them or just hanging around and making hearts at David or something like that. SO MANY POKEMON TO RESEARCH

THIS IS A DIFFICULT SCENARIO FOR CHARGER since while she knows that Jockey just wants to help and is reaching out to her and all that, Jockey is probably the person she wants to talk about this to the least. Jockey's the one who's always telling her that she'll see David again, that he's still alive somewhere, that really everything's okay, and that's exactly what Charger doesn't want to hear cause it reminds her that it's not true. But Jockey's intentions are good. SO she tries to rebuff her politely and Jockey is somewhere aware that maybe it's because of how she handles things, but still really wants to help Charger, so comes up with the compromise of not saying anything. That way there's no problem, right?
Even so, Charger can't really bring herself to say much. Something vague enough so that it doesn't conflict with Jockey's beliefs that David is still alive, something that won't prompt her to try and comfort her by telling her that he's still alive, but something that's still essentially true.
Even though Jockey stays true to her word and doesn't say anything, and might not have said anything even if Charger had gone on a long ramble about it, Charger can't say anything further to her. It's something that she just can't talk about alone with her, their viewpoints are too different.
A DIFFICULT SITUATION AS MENTIONED
Charger has a deep love for animals, what with her profession and all, so she's happy to see that some have survived after all. She tends to focus on the minutiae to get them through the day, where to eat and sleep and where they're going and all that, but sometimes the scope of all the death around them can hit you and it's sort of overwhelming. :o
The faceless cows are real and you can see them in the game! In the Swamp Fever campaign, as a matter of fact, which is where I picture them wandering around here.
TRY THIS OUT ON YOUR GUY FRIENDS AND SEE HOW THEY REACT!
Charger of course doesn't think anything of it, considering what she did for a living, and Hunter probably had regular TMI contests with her friends, and Smoker doesn't really care what anyone else thinks, and Jockey just rolls with it cause hey, this kind of stuff happens man.
If you want to get all technical about it, in a way one might wonder if tampons/pads would really be that necessary, given that they're probably covered with blood and bile and gore like 80% of the time, so would a little more blood really make that much of a difference? It's not like they're going to be washing their clothes a lot so it doesn't really matter if it stains. I guess should this actually be happening, they'd probably be borrowing clothes from abandoned houses once they got too disgusting to wear, and in that case if you don't want to ruin those, then it makes more sense.
But for me personally, going without something like that while having your period just feels gross, so it makes sense to me that you might want tampons/pads. Even as just a reminder of the world before the apocalypse. :o Although going without wouldn't be a matter of life and death or anything for them, it's just something they can have a little control over.
I KNOW I'VE PROBABLY GIVEN WAY TOO MUCH THOUGHT TO THIS ALREADY but anyway I dunno if they'd really have enough time to get periods anyway, L4D1 is set two weeks after the infection, and L4D2 three weeks if I remember right, so that's not a huge time frame. If they're wandering around longer than that, then it could come up, but it's possible that it's just not an issue when the infection has just broken out. And stress could interrupt it or malnutrition or whatever like Charger mentions, although the most likely culprit for that would be Smoker since she's already pretty thin.
And given that they're probably chugging painkillers everyday with the bottles of pills they carry around, cramps probably wouldn't be a huge problem, although if they did get bad they're probably get more irritatable than usual.

I forget what brought up this idea, maybe a dream or something, but I got to wondering what they might look like as the other type of Special Infected. So Hunter as a Smoker, and Smoker as a Hunter. Doing this actually made it clear how closely tied their designs are to their eventual infections, which makes sense since these two started life as zombies and then I worked backwards, haha. It was sort of an interesting experiment though.
I was tempted to do Jockey as a Charger and Charger as a Jockey, but my mind balked at a cackling Charger and I ended up not doing it, haha. MAYBE LATER.
Might do them as each infected if I get bored, hmm.
As the L4D2 Smoker with more tongues coming out everywhere.
SIDEBURNS ARE TROUBLE
No idea who the guy on the left is but whatever, he's an extra. Anyway, Ray has no interest in Hunter romantically, for whatever reason (already in a relationship with a guy/girl, gay, celibate, asexual, just not interested, whatever) but either way, their relationship is strictly platonic. And it's probably the same situation with Jordan as well, in that he doesn't have any interest in her romantically. Her other friends though might have harbored feelings for her at one point, like David (I keep forgetting that Hunter had a friend called David as well, haha, that's going to come up later eventually) or some other random guys who pop up every now and then.

I was just flipping through my old Pokemon book looking for stuff that could work for them. HunterMeowth, SmokerStunky, JockeyChatot, ChargerDonphan. WHY NOT

Actually this probably doesn't come as any surprise, but me and jazaaboo had been talking about what they'd be like in the Pokemon universe for a while. :B Particularly Charger, who we thought would make a natural Gym Leader. David would hang around her gym, and direct you to her if you thought he was the leader, and then when you beat her, he'd run over all ! to her side and ask if she was alright, and generally it'd be all adorable.
SO YOU CAN IMAGINE OUR SURPRISE WHEN LENORA IN BLACK AND WHITE SHOWED UP, WHO WAS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE WHAT WE'D IMAGINED FOR CHARGER it was the most bizarre thing I swear, haha
Anyway we pictured Charger becoming a wandering gym leader after you beat her, and you'd run across her at Pokemon migrations with David, studying them or just hanging around and making hearts at David or something like that. SO MANY POKEMON TO RESEARCH
I don't know why I always think of this as stuff being coached in the terms of the game itself.

I picture a depressed Charger not arguing very much when someone points something out to her, like Jockey does above. Sort of apathetic I guess?
Thinking about David, thus why she doesn't want to talk to Jockey about it. :< BUT JOCKEY CARES TOO MUCH
THIS IS A DIFFICULT SCENARIO FOR CHARGER since while she knows that Jockey just wants to help and is reaching out to her and all that, Jockey is probably the person she wants to talk about this to the least. Jockey's the one who's always telling her that she'll see David again, that he's still alive somewhere, that really everything's okay, and that's exactly what Charger doesn't want to hear cause it reminds her that it's not true. But Jockey's intentions are good. SO she tries to rebuff her politely and Jockey is somewhere aware that maybe it's because of how she handles things, but still really wants to help Charger, so comes up with the compromise of not saying anything. That way there's no problem, right?
Even so, Charger can't really bring herself to say much. Something vague enough so that it doesn't conflict with Jockey's beliefs that David is still alive, something that won't prompt her to try and comfort her by telling her that he's still alive, but something that's still essentially true.
Even though Jockey stays true to her word and doesn't say anything, and might not have said anything even if Charger had gone on a long ramble about it, Charger can't say anything further to her. It's something that she just can't talk about alone with her, their viewpoints are too different.
A DIFFICULT SITUATION AS MENTIONED
Charger has a deep love for animals, what with her profession and all, so she's happy to see that some have survived after all. She tends to focus on the minutiae to get them through the day, where to eat and sleep and where they're going and all that, but sometimes the scope of all the death around them can hit you and it's sort of overwhelming. :o
The faceless cows are real and you can see them in the game! In the Swamp Fever campaign, as a matter of fact, which is where I picture them wandering around here.
TRY THIS OUT ON YOUR GUY FRIENDS AND SEE HOW THEY REACT!
Charger of course doesn't think anything of it, considering what she did for a living, and Hunter probably had regular TMI contests with her friends, and Smoker doesn't really care what anyone else thinks, and Jockey just rolls with it cause hey, this kind of stuff happens man.
If you want to get all technical about it, in a way one might wonder if tampons/pads would really be that necessary, given that they're probably covered with blood and bile and gore like 80% of the time, so would a little more blood really make that much of a difference? It's not like they're going to be washing their clothes a lot so it doesn't really matter if it stains. I guess should this actually be happening, they'd probably be borrowing clothes from abandoned houses once they got too disgusting to wear, and in that case if you don't want to ruin those, then it makes more sense.
But for me personally, going without something like that while having your period just feels gross, so it makes sense to me that you might want tampons/pads. Even as just a reminder of the world before the apocalypse. :o Although going without wouldn't be a matter of life and death or anything for them, it's just something they can have a little control over.
I KNOW I'VE PROBABLY GIVEN WAY TOO MUCH THOUGHT TO THIS ALREADY but anyway I dunno if they'd really have enough time to get periods anyway, L4D1 is set two weeks after the infection, and L4D2 three weeks if I remember right, so that's not a huge time frame. If they're wandering around longer than that, then it could come up, but it's possible that it's just not an issue when the infection has just broken out. And stress could interrupt it or malnutrition or whatever like Charger mentions, although the most likely culprit for that would be Smoker since she's already pretty thin.
And given that they're probably chugging painkillers everyday with the bottles of pills they carry around, cramps probably wouldn't be a huge problem, although if they did get bad they're probably get more irritatable than usual.
