There is the bench
where we sit just
as always as the day
goes by as ever
and always I feel
your ankle next to mine
knocking, 'I am here'.
A wind goes through
some time unexpected
a change, cold feet,
you go by, not the world,
and it is just me
there on the bench.

floods
of breaths spinning in drifts
puddles
of tears at the base of lungs

waterlogged
dream and drown and whirlpool down
diving
in black depths, tumbling with the
current
