HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE
I went walking and this is what I saw...
easter '09
late afternoon and all the water's mud
two stately pelicans waddle and web across
they scale the bank and assess the for sale :
a two storey with nice views of the lapping swamp.
jet skis whip past, kicking up the sun's peace.
it's Easter day and I am on my back
dreaming of your hands and mired in mud
a dog barks and the two take to the sky's light
they churn the air and skid on water
one sits royal on a boat signal pole.
it clouds over, and masks the time,
the wind catching lungs in shivering light
renewed and old, your eyes they shone for me, and
I will look for you again beyond the sea
