Where certain persons get ahead of themselves

Na'im came over for a visit earlier. It's ridiculous how nervous I was about it, but I think he was at least as nervous as I was. It's not the first time he's been over, but it's the first time he came without a whole group of other people to draw attention off him, and, well, as my boyfriend.

Turned out pretty okay. He brought along a library book I'd wanted, a lovely souvenir from his family vacation to Kuala Lumpur and a way, way too generous gift from his mom that I felt a little guilty accepting (she's a really nice woman...). We just sat down and talked, and had a late lunch, and my mother and grandmother seem to approve of him.

And yeah, I've really missed him, so I was incredibly glad to see him again.

When my dad got home that night he asked "So I heard you got something from your mother-in-law," and I whacked him on the shoulder.

Speaking of in-laws, I missed Suli's wedding because I couldn't walk. Well, I can, but for really short distances and at about 3 centimetres per second. Pretty bummed about it. She's not close enough that my absence would have broken either of our hearts but she is a friend, and she made certain I was invited. Ah well. All the best for her marriage - she's one of the nicest, most down-to-earth people I know, and her husband is known to be a pretty decent guy himself, so I have faith they'll be happy together.

Suli's only a year older than me...Her wedding sent a wave of "OMG we have to start thinking about marriage!" and "Who's next?" speculation through my circle of friends. It's kinda hilarious.

Me? No matter what anyone says, it's not happening anytime soon.

Argh. I just realized my automatic "I'm too young to get married!" reaction to the question no longer applies...
