Thank you, Apple Jacks, for said totally sweet light-up thingie.
Thus ends the shitstorm of awesome company! Cols arrived the day after the Canandians and Texan-turned-Floridian left, and we had a fabulous time going to the Central Park Zoo, Museum of Natural History (with Darwinian goodness), some of my local haunts, and losing an entire day to awesomely bad movies-on-tv. It was great to see her and I hope to make it down to the District some time before next summer :-p
Then I got an email from my advisor basically saying, "Hey! That chapter I want you to write with me that we'll count as your thesis? Yeah the guy wants it on or around September 1." And then I had a giant panic attack. Actually I'm still having one, I just vacillate between panic and burying my head in the sand and humming really loudly to ignore it. But I'll meet with him next week (earlier rather than later hopefully/unfortunately), and in the meantime I'm frantically reading. Maybe this time I'll learn my lesson about leaving things to the last minute? Meh we can hope.
In other exciting news, it's one week until Snakes on a motherfucking Plane, and
cols can shut her piehole, because it's going to be awesomely bad and I will enjoy it and that will be okay, goddamnit. The only way it will be any better (aside from actual plot and writing and acting (minus Samuel L. because he'll be awesome)--enough snark thanks) is if the protagonist quotes Ezekiel 25:17. Or some facsimile thereof. I'll settle for "I've had it with these motherfuckin snakes!"
And in other other exciting news, it's less than a month until the Penn State-Notre Dame game. To which I am going. Fucking A. I can't wait to show off my alma mater to at least a small percentage of my friends who've yet to see it, and I also can't wait to see my boys flatten the Lions. And my little basses all grown up. Rocco a senior? Who would have thought. And Meg might be there too! Wheee!
That's it for now. I should go read some more before Project Runway. They won't top last week's drama with a certain Cheater McCheaterson's being kicked out, but there will be hissy fits and quacking.
