Tvshows of 2009

Jan 09, 2010 01:39

Note: I'm still seeing some recent production made in USA and Great Britain, so this is not a list about 2009, but about what I was able to see this year.

This time was quite simple. the king, in the last couple of years, is easy to see.

MAD MEN... what else?
Reasons? A too nerdy -nobby-old fashion show not to immediately be love at first episode. Serious reasons? Screenplay is witty and always more than perfect. Direction is strong, colours are vivid, setting and costumes are predictably awesome (I want a round skirt with a flower stamp), music are perfectly combined but, let me say this; ACTORS AND ACTRESS! I know, there are people out there that thinks that young person who work for CW actually act...well, they don't know these guys. I can not name an actor that is less than really appropiated for his role, istead I can make a (long) list of guys and chicks that are doing their larger than life role. Examples: Elisabeth Moss plays one of the most old maid look like secretary of the history of television (and she is ugly too! Betty who?), Vincent Kartheiser is so slimy, blown nose and careerist that Chuck Bass looks like a child, Christina Hendricks is too iconic and sexy to be commentable and him, the master of puppets, the lover, the glamorous devil, the father, the husband, the Man, HIM, John Hamm *dies*. And he plays too, even he does not need is too smirky sexy to need something more than moving round his drinking and look in camera. *salivating*
Maybe he can play a good Asami too? I don't know, I'll ask to the expert, ecchan87 . Waiting for an answer, I want to thanks AMV, that with its first tv show created an instant classic, and Matthew Weiner, because he created all of this. You're a genius, guy, totally.

And now the others!

30 ROCK because we <3 you Tina! The only lack of this show is a  big fandom (and a really smutty episode written by one of  JackxLemon fangirls, damn!)
Even if the show hits the 4th season, it's still freash and genuinely hylarious, accostumed to strange&crazy "the daily show" crew and funny work / friend relationship between Jack and Lemon. This year there were 2 jokes about italians, it was so funny! Lol. And John Hamm is unrecognizibly modern and cool (and he kisses Tina! Gyaah, best shows crossover!)

FRINGE because it's JJ!
Well, this is my heart talking. I've to admit; the second season has too much holes and filelr episodes to be a not-to-be-missed show (but there at Thursday there is worse shows than this)but it still has a sense (remember second season of Lost?), the plot is still intriguing and, when JJ wants, there are BOOOOOM! episode, like a never ending "oh-my-G-O-D! No! WHAT? Yiiikess!" to comment them (to the first unlucky available skype contact). Anna Torv is more pucci than ever with her fantastic "Freeeeeze!" and John Noble, once you understand you had seen him in The Lord of The Rings after 2 years and almost 30 episode, well, screams "Emmy! Emmy!" all over. This is sci-fy, ok?

HOUSE MD Hugh, I'm yours!
6th series. Usually only superfanboys/girls can see a show for all this time (usually every new serie of a normal show is more boring, stupid and exaggerated than the previous one). But House it's Hugh Laurie, means a mountain of prizes won, an almost always interesting episode, some shocking turning point and a real good performances. And Olivia Wilde is awesome chick, sorry for scream at you for almost two series my dear! *-* In this show there is place even for fandom, as the last turning point before christmas reveal. Great! Someone said "Grey's Anatomy"? Please.

GLEE be aware!
The best first season of the year. But in a year in which new products were almost unseeable. It's a good product, well-made and captivating, but with too imperfections to be really appealing. Plot holes like it rains (but the writers talk to each other), a disgusting lipsynch (O_O),  modern stereotype characters, forced happy ending. The astonishing talent of Lea Michele, cool mash ups,  Jane Lynch wickedness and Jayma Mays cuteness will be enough to endure?

TRUE BLOOD world guilty pleasure
Too trash and HBO to be missed. I preferred the first serie, but here is full of fangirling moment, shipping process and superlative quotations. Alan Ball is a fucking genius even when writes for fun. Evan Rachel Wood guest apperance is a good example of how much this serie can be your favourite summer guilty pleasure.

LOST the magic wheel
I don't need to say anything more.

DOLLHOUSE the proof
The second season is the proof that Joss Whedon is not a genius. It's not misfortune, it's called "a serie that deserves to be cancel" Yeah, now say "Ah, FOX raped the original concept!" "Poor Joss!" "You don't get!" I get only that the second serie is like Joss wanted and it's a shit.

You want more? Here!

1 V - I need to see more.
2 Flashforward - I don't need another minute of it. Horrible.
3 The Vampire Diares - after 14 minutes, I faint. Cool guy, not enough to torture myself with this.
4 Supernatural - Mistery. I don't get the appeal. At ALL.
5 Gossip Girl - CW wants to kill me. Boring, but the outfits are awesome.
6 Alice - I don't see it yet.
