Books of 2009

I'm back again (and I didn't forget my intention, yay)!
So, let's talk of books, you know, I'm almost a bookaholic.

If you love readings but your memory is not perfect and you want to keep track of your adventures between written pages, I really suggest you to use Anobii ; it's the best way to create a virtual shelf of all of personal readings and preferences, even if, like me, you're the kind of person that hasn't enough money to buy all the books he wants to read and so he's a publiclibrarygoer. It's fantastic also for discovering interesting new books!

According to the site this year I read 47 books and 11763 pages...quite lazy, for sure! XD Well, I'm to slow (especially in foreign languages' readings) for reading more than 15000 pages in a year and I'm so so sad, I want to be able to read tons of books!

Unfortunately I can not give some advise about books written in 2009, because I didn't open even once a year, this time. But I'm waiting for suggestions, of course!

About "Best of 2009" I'm sure of my choice...I cried so much, and I was so moved and felt a sublime passion, even in Tokyo subway, thanks to this book.

The winner is...

this is awesome. The first part seems a new book by Jane Austen for all the classic taste, the ironic paiting for an english family, but with an acumen and a deep understanding of human being that recalls Virginia Wolf's best moment. After the turning point, the war, with a touch of Hemingway, and passion, passion, PASSION, wated with regrets of the main protagonist and despair of her sister (and his lover).
It's too sad and to passionate (and too well-written) to be described propely. Someone said it's to slow and complicated...I think it's simply a modern masterpiece and I *really* want to read it in english.
(of the same author in 2009 I read "The comfort of Strangers"...it doesn't seem the same writer, really. It's so talented, this book, settled in Venice, remember for its morbidity "The Death in Venice". Try something written by him.)
From "Atonement" there is a fantastic movie, it's similar to the book, but with a classy adaptation and a strong and vivid usage of the most brilliant scenes from the novel. If you don't like books, try the movie. Ahhh, that green dress, exactly as I imagined. And, because of I know all of you, little pervert, there is a magnificent sex scene! Fufufufu.

Thanks to this book adaptation, I discovered Saorsie Ronan great talent...she is sooo cute, I love her. I'm  impatiently waiting to see her in "The lovely bones".

The Top List!
