Ace of swords, reversed.

Well, according to my book, this card is very doom and gloom. "Conquest, but the results are disastrous. Obstacles, great loss, infertility". I don't care about that last one so much, but the other definitions give me pause.

One could look at the metaphorical meaning of the first definition - trying something, but failing at it. This is not inherently a bad thing. It's hard to learn to do things without making mistakes or doing them wrong the first few times. That's how you learn not to make mistakes.

Obstacles, it's the same thing - they're always going to be there, and you can learn from them.

So, I'm going to try to take a metaphorical and optimistic approach to this. There are changes ahead - work, driving lessons, all that kind of thing - and I'm going to have obstacles in front of me. It'll be hard to learn how to drive. Maybe I'll fail my driving test, but that's not the end of the world. Maybe work will stress me out, but that's also not the end of the world.

To deal with change and obstacles, I can work on strategies to manage the problems that might come up, and hopefully minimize the result if things don't work out. That sounds like a good way to go about it.

[edit]

I just looked up further meanings online.

The results seem to suggest that I am mentally constipated.

As far as work goes, this isn't that bad of a description, actually. At least as far as motivation and concentration goes. So, guess I know what I need to work on.
