Don't you hate it when a day is perfect until someone decides to ruin it ? You know, like your angry father harping on your mother when she's coming back from work and then your mother is also angry, no good mood anymore. I hate that and my father does it all the time. He's a control freak, he wants to control everyone and everything. Sometimes, I can't even have an argument with my mother without it butting in and making things worse. (And this is where I'm glad my father completely sucks at English because he could always try to read what I write, he would not understand)

As you can already, this sad scenario happened on Monday. It was a perfect day, I had got back two excellent marks (one I wasn't expecting at all to be good.) and I was looking forward to tell my mother. After two years of getting worked up about a shitty department, it feels good to be back in my element and to be glad to go to the college. Sadly, I did not have the occasion because my father had angered my mother. I ended up brooding in my own corner, watching Transformers (the film with Wannabe-Hardcore XD) and only showed it to her yesterday. She was as baffled as me :D

But onto the recap of the last week in Uni 8D

Littérature :

The lessons are getting more interesting but I still think it's useless to dissect works of fiction or non-fiction that way. Maybe that's just me but I never really understand it and succeed in writing a paper about it. I always thought it was because I was a writer myself. I don't write anymore but I used to. Maybe that's why I find it stupid to search for things that aren't intended by the author. The book sporks itself on the matter in the very first chapter:

"We all make our own interpretations and sometimes the total meaning of a poem even evades the poet who wrote it"

An Introduction to Poetry, by X. J. Kennedy & Dana Gioia

I'm much better at writing and to my utter surprise, I was again selectionned in the second poem 'contest' (wasn't a contest per se) to be put on the blog : http://poetryl1.blogspot.com And my wife prefers mine among all the poems ♥ *hugs her wife*

I should not go to this class without sleeping because as always, lack of sleep makes more sadistic and more perverted than ever. In a poem about a whore lying in her grave, I kept seeing a phallic symbol and necrophilia, thanks to innuendos like the thickest, tallest monument. I was not seeing the same meaning for the poem as anyone else. It was also on the same day that we studied William Blake, who was a 'fan' of the American and French Revolution. Considering how the former collapsed less than one hundred years later and the latter became an empire, it's not a good reference. Especially when you're accusing the King of not caring about the poor. Whaaaaaat ? First, no touching King Georges III. Second, this King had tons of charities (and so did his wife) and he gave more than any other british monarchs : 'A proportion which in today's money would be worth never less than some £850,000 a year and probably more. (Royal Bounty, 12)' from Georges III, A Personal History, by Christopher Hibbert. So fuck you William Blake >_<. And no, I haven't just finished Georges III's biography and have a bigger crush. Not at all. I just kept growling inwardly instead of bursting into a righteous rant 8D

Lack of sleep must make me pissy because I also got angry at the teacher constantly suggesting that the poet meant pirates when he wrote sailors. Pirates are sailors but all sailors are pirates dammit ! But I also find fun in the poem with the sailor catching tigers (Captain Englehorn~~) and the brilliant TMI sentence by the teacher : 'They were expecting colours, they only got white'. I need to type this lesson because I went wild with the sporking :D

Last week was uneventful. Only one thing mattered to me  and to the rest of the class : homeworks. We did the correcting and I was anxious. They would find things I would have never thought of. When she started handing in the paper, I was expecting her to tell me it was bad and I needed to work.

She said it was excellent and I got 19/20.

I could not believe it O_O I suck at this and I got the best mark one can have (You never got 20/20 on this kind of paper, it's not possible for it to be perfect). It was a class I was worried I would fail but now I think I can make it è_é.

Grammar :

My favourite subject with Oral :D I don't have much to say about it though. We learn the grammar and do the exercices. Although when I say learn, I don't think most of the class do learn. Frankly when I see their marks or when they make the very same mistake we learn not to do one minutes ago, I feel like I'm among dummies. And when they complained about how hard it is ! It's supposed to be something you've already learned !  Blah. France, stop being so st00pid, thanks.

On a much joyous note, we got back the midsemester test of last week and I got 19/20 8D I would not have expected less to be quite honest.

French :

This class is a crackfest XD The teacher keep on digressing on related subjects and Neroon keeps on making stupid commentaries on my notes :D Here's a sample of some things said and written in this class :

'peeping... like rape in a way"

'Acteon is proud to be a peeping tom"

'will get fucked by his own pals' my own interpretation XD

'Qu'est-ce qu'une chienne' =>... Do you think it's a good question to ask to college students ?

'Neroon : Gods, they're all assholes."

'Cannibalistic version of EROS...*thinks of VORE*... Noooooo u_u....'

'Cinderella IZ SLEEPING BEAUTY IN DISGYZ

'Tiresias : Well, duh.'

And it's only a sample :D I got a lot more that I will type :D

Oral :

*______________* I looooooove my teacher ABBEY :D And I think she does like me too :D I do talk a lot after all. We must be three persons to talk regularly during the class, two guys and me 8D I'm usually the one to explain vocabulary which led Abbey to call me the Vocabulary Queen and then the Vocabulary Specialist *proud* (-which calls the SPESHUN SNOWFLAKE syndrome because the lit teacher told us that if we wanted to acquire more vocabulary we needed to read with a dictionary. I never use a dictionary when I read.)

Analyse Image :

I must say I don't really like that class nor do I like the teacher much. Hell, I have a test tomorrow which consists in doing a written analysis in 1h30 and I don't feel that good about it. I got an A- at my detailed commentary plan but it was just a plan :\ and my plan was not that good :\ I guess I'll see tomorrow :\

Compréhension :

Can I say how I hate translation ? For someone like me, who's literally thinking in English almost all the time, translating is the bane of my life >_< Plus the class is the last of the week and  I'm pretty tired. I participated a bit last week and so did others. We managed to end the class early because of that. I think the teacher is quite annoyed with having a bunch of unresponsive vegetables in her class 8D

That's it for Uni recap :D

~~~~
I'm a cinema mood this year, thanks to my UGC card :D Two weeks ago, I had a cinema day with three films : Mamma Mia again :D (You can daaaaaance~) Appaloosa again ("I told her we were both with you.") aaaand Tropic Thunder during which I laughed so much :D I waaaaaant Satan's Alley :D
Last week, I went to see Nightmare Before Christmas 3D with my wide :D It was nice although they could have made the 3D much better.
Tomorrow, some nicey stalking at the premiere of Quantum of Solace in Paris.
Friday : Two or three films :D I don't know yet :D
