I had a bit of a freakout a few minutes ago when the power shut off for a split second and came back on.  The first thing I did?  Check on my computer.  It seems unharmed.  *crosses fingers and goes to burn off her photos just to be safe*

I smell like smoke and my fingers smell like vanilla.  Of course, that might be because I sat outside with my parents while my dad cooked the single biggest piece of meat I've ever seen him buy.  My fingers smell like vanilla because I was cutting up vanilla beans for homemade vanilla extract.

 Two good articles on the decline of the manga industry in Japan since the 90's.  The first one is from USA Today and the other Wired.  The comments at the end of the USA article, well, few of them are good.  Some are simply statements about how it is stupid and how they hate it.

*headdesk*  I'm still trying to figure out how to show all my photos online.  There are more than 200 and I don't have one place to show them.  Will try to figure out in the next couple of days.

Look!  The guy who has proposed a new theory on how dinosaurs flew was my old Historical Geology teacher!  I liked him.  He was a good teacher and fun to listen to.  His was one of my favorite classes.  He made a topic that could have been dull very interesting.  He is also the reason that I know we still have dinosaurs around.  We just call them ( Read more... )
