Happy Independence Day, all!
Am still in NYC; have just come back from watching the Macey's fireworks display over the Hudson River with
nightengale . It was MAGNIFICENT, and I have pics and footage to post later on (I left my phone cable at home.) It's been one hell of a visit-- so much has happened, I don't know where to start; best way, though, will be from the pics I post when I get home.
I fly out tomorrow morning (gotta catch a cab Way Too Early) and
nightengale catches her bus at about the same time my cab leaves. Visiting her and meeting Kristi and Dan and Mezi and so many of the others has rocked; Pittsburgh was amazingly green and beautiful, and I got to see marvelous things and got a very, very special gift, more of which I'll post about when I can upload the pictures. Wait'll y'all see, though; just wait. ^___^ And in NYC I got to see my younger sister Denise, my niece and great-niece Shelley and Brittany, and my cousin Zan, all of which was good.
Okay; exhausted now. Feet hurt muchly, muchly, muchly. I now understand why you see so few fat New Yorkers, it's because they walk/run/stairclimb like Olympic contenders every day. My ankles feel like they've been run over by taxicabs (which has almost happened a time or two, admittedly) and my footsoles are re-enacting the Burning Of Atlanta By The Yankee Soldiers right now.
But I'm so very glad I did this. **happy** Thank you, Kristi and Dan and Mezi and all the rest for making me feel welcome; thank you, Sarah, for watching after my critters and keeping them safe for me while I was away; thank you Scott and Hale for letting us borrow your marvelous apartment; and thank you,
nightengale my sister, for making me feel loved and happy and welcome.
You all rock, every last one of you.
