The other day I finally figured out how to put a picture on my LJ (why was this so natural for everybody else? it was pretty counterintuitive for me!), so lucky you! You might occasionally get some visuals with these updates!
Today Lauren came to visit. As she put it so eloquently, she picked the WORST WEEKEND EVER to come, as everybody seems to have too much stuff to do. Personally, I have a TON of work to do--school work, work-work, and Peace Corps work. Not to mention people I have to see, which just make it that much worse. But we had made plans to hang out today, and I'm glad we did, because I had fun.
She wanted to go to the new Georgia Aquarium, but she didn't think of/mention it in time, and we didn't have an appointment. As I have a ton of work to do this evening, we decided to stay in Athens. We had lunch and then walked around downtown and north campus and took pictures. We looked very touristy :-). Although I'm not sure why a tourist would want to come to Athens, GA (an obsession with R.E.M., perhaps?), so maybe we just looked like freshmen (in March). Anyway, I wanted pictures to have when I go to the Peace Corps, and she is in NJ now and wanted some pictures of Athens, because she didn't have any. I also decided that it was finally ok for me to get something school-spirited. I don't want a bunch of crap that I'm going to have to pack up and store in 6 months, so I bought 2 UGA Nalgene bottles. One has the smaller opening at the top, which I looooove for drinking, but on the way home I started to wonder how easy it would be to wash. The other one is about 250 mL smaller than the normal Nalgene, and has a more durable hook to attach it to things. It's much more portable, and it's red, and I love it. So useful, AND school-spirited!
Now I am at home; I should be working, but I'm not. Jason is going to come pick me up so I can have dinner with his family, and then I will get crackin.
The house smells like pee. It is awful. But we have a washer and dryer now!!! Yay!!!
