After my Lumbar Fusion in January, awesome Physical Therapy and expiring my FMLA for the year, I return to work on Monday with a back that is pain free as are most of the nerves and muscles around the surgical site. I must apologize to my friends as I haven't been around much the last few weeks, trying to get ready for Surgery at 8am tomorrow! Here's hoping this solves all of my back problems and I can begin to live life again! I'll be in the hospital for 2-3 days and not sure about the internet service there. I saw the neurosurgeon on Monday and I didn't have to plead my case for a 3rd surgery in the same location. He KNOWS I have vertebrae scraping vertebrae now and surgery is scheduled for January 12th...posterior lumbar interbody fusion. Finally found the one item I have been looking for over the last two days that has to be dealt with before I can leave town! It only took me until 2:50am! Today is Mom's 59th Birthday! I called her at 7am to give her birthday wishes and due to her busy work schedule, we made plans to celebrate Thursday evening when she's in town...yay! I made it the 1/2 mile lap inside the mall today! Yay! and believe it or not, I still feel pretty good at midnight. I started the Steroid pack today to reduce the nerve inflammation and it has me WIRED for SOUND!!!! My eyes are soooo sleepy but my brain is going 90 miles a minute. Went for my first follow up on Tuesday. I didn't get to see the doc and won't see him til my next appt in 3-4 weeks ( I told the receptionist I would be out of town on the 25/26/27 since she said the office manager would have to work me in and mail me the appt).
