Deepika is the darling of the awards season this year.
Each ceremony blurs into the next. He's running on adrenalin and caffeine most days and all his responses are automatic. It doesn't matter anyway, everyone knows Farhan's going to win all the awards for Bhaag Milkha, he doesn't need to practice fake-smiling in the mirror too long. His jaw's beginning to hurt with the strain, as it is.
Congratulations, he manages each time he runs into her. She's always holding an award; he doesn't know if it's for Chennai Express or Ram-Leela or their own movie together, but it doesn't really matter.

LOL, I like Ranbir fine enough, I think he seems kind of a jerk, but he really is a good actor and builds up excellent chemistry with his co-stars, at least on-screen. But yeah, I totally get him not being very likable in general.

LOL, honestly I have never even thought of Ranbir and fandom or even Bollywood!shipping ever before this ficathon. IDEK WHAT THIS FIC IS OMG.
ALSO, I think your interpretation is aces, and probably way better than whatever I was thinking while writing it. But Ranbir does seem to me essentially the type of person (although obv it's a false equivocation since I don't know him at all and cannot correctly judge) who would be lonely. Because he's so much of a persona, I'd imagine it'd hard for him to switch that off and be a real person. And obviously, his reputation and all that his exes say about him, seems to compound that. It's like he is his image. And his relationship with Deepika interests me so much on that count, because she seems really blunt, really in the I-date-for-marriage space, and they seem to be polar opposites in a lot of their world-views, especially relationship-wise, so that they were together and (at least on her part) "madly in love" is so intriguing

But no, you didn't get the wrong thing at all; R/K is super intriguing for me as well, because I just can't understand what kind of dynamic they'd have. Katrina, in general, seems hard to place as a person, which probably compounds it. And I'm glad they worked for you in this fic, because they're a complete mystery to me!
