LOL, honestly I have never even thought of Ranbir and fandom or even Bollywood!shipping ever before this ficathon. IDEK WHAT THIS FIC IS OMG.
ALSO, I think your interpretation is aces, and probably way better than whatever I was thinking while writing it. But Ranbir does seem to me essentially the type of person (although obv it's a false equivocation since I don't know him at all and cannot correctly judge) who would be lonely. Because he's so much of a persona, I'd imagine it'd hard for him to switch that off and be a real person. And obviously, his reputation and all that his exes say about him, seems to compound that. It's like he is his image. And his relationship with Deepika interests me so much on that count, because she seems really blunt, really in the I-date-for-marriage space, and they seem to be polar opposites in a lot of their world-views, especially relationship-wise, so that they were together and (at least on her part) "madly in love" is so intriguing.
That quote is iiiinteresting, I can see it applying to so many people and situations, seriously.
