Those lazy hazy days of summer....

My house currently smells like burnt toast. That's cool.

I don't have to work until 5 tonight and that is fabulous. It's virtually a day off. Oh yeah, today was supposed to be the day that I go and get my Florida license. Whoopsie....

My weekend get-away to Tampa was awesome, minus the whole fact that the Red Sox lost both games I went to. My little rental car was fun. It was a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. But no, I would never want one. I'm a Jeep girl for life. I left Friday at 5:30 and got to my hotel in Clearwater around 1 in the morning. The king size bed was great...as was the shower with hot water (because I always seem to get cold water here...). Saturday's game wasn't until 7 so I went to the mall in the afternoon, spent $150 at Best Buy and then drove around the Gulf Beaches. Drove by Treasure Island and had flashbacks of Spring Break 2005 when we got burnt to a crisp and then went to the Waffle House. Oh, memories. Then I went over to St. Petersburg's Pier and relived more of Spring Break, had some lunch on the pier and then it was game time!

Tropicana Field is actually really cool. It's a dome so it's always a comfortable 72 degrees inside. Of course it was mainly Red Sox fans at both games, but I was surprised with how many Tampa Bay fans there were. And they're assholes too! Wow. Then again, I'm sure they say the same thing about Red Sox fans. On Saturday's game I was seated in left field third baseline right near the foul pole (a perfect spot for TB to hit that damn homerun...) On Sunday's game I was seated in right field first baseline (perfect view of Ortiz's homerun!). It was great to be in a different park and just see my Red Sox, but seriously...how can you lose 2 out of 3 to Tampa Bay? It was pathetic, especially Sunday's game when we had a comfortable 4-run lead for a while. Here's an idea: GET RID OF TAVAREZ!!! He was a big factor in us losing both games. And then last night, we couldn't win against Kansas City? God fuckin' A! Anyways, if I'm still here in Key West next year (which I plan on being) I'll be taking some more trips up to Tropicana.

And now back in Key West....we're getting ready for a big weekend. It's Lobsterfest on Saturday and I'll be working the Red Fish, Blue Fish tent. I heard that it's a big money-making day.  I have to go into work tomorrow and do prep work and get the event ready with my manager. And I HATE HATE HATE lobster. I have a very sensitive sense of smell and lobster really makes me sick to my stomach. The lobster dinners at BYC used to kill me. And watching people eat lobster grosses me out...with the juice and the green stuff and the cracking claws and the nasty lobster bibs. GROSS. I guess I'll just have to suck it up. Should be interesting nonetheless.

Oh, and I must say...Flavor of Love is quite possibly the best show on television right now.
