I have a new obsession....Strangers With Candy. I went and saw the movie a few days ago by myself at the little indie flick cinema here in Key West and yes, I was that girl sitting in the last row laughing hysterically. Anyways, I came home and ordered the TV series DVD off of Amazon.com and have been filling my new love with clips from YouTube.com (YouTube...P.S., is the greatest thing ever.)
Anywho, I'm sitting at home watching the Red Sox play the Tigers on MLB.TV. This weekend is going to be huge with a 5-game series with the Yankees. I can't wait. It's also almost football season which means things at Jack Flats are going to start to get crazy. We're supposedly getting more screens and better TVs (we already have about 25 TVs and 4 screens and recently we got high definition). I heard it can get pretty insane. I just hope they'll actually schedule me down there a few times when football is on. Make money, money, money!
Speaking of work, because seriously what else would I be "speaking" about...Lobsterfest was on Saturday and it was fan-tabulous. On Thursday I spent a few hours in the kitchen prepping potato and pepper skewers. I cut so many potatoes, I was pretty much cutting potatoes in my sleep...On Saturday I pulled a nice 14-hour day. I spent the first few hours putting the skewers together and then I got to work the tent for the remainder of the day. Lobster, lobster, lobster everywhere! It was a pretty crazy day, but it was also a lot of fun. One of our bartenders put on a lobster costume which was a huge hit. Thankfully the smell of lobster didn't bother me too much. Actually, Florida lobster doesn't smell as bad as Maine lobster. I was absolutely exhausted by the end of the day, mainly because of the heat, but it was worth it. Good times.
Nothing really exciting on tap this week, except there's a party going down on Thursday night which I will be attending. Other then that, lots of work and lots of nothing in between.
The Red Sox are calling for my full attention. Peace out.
