What time is it? It's Valentimes!

Wow. So I'm pretty sure the last time I wrote in here was over two years ago, and the post was just something I had copy-pasted from the MySpace I was still using. Huh.

Well, today is Valentine's Day. Not my favorite holiday, and not just because I'm single. In fact, I've never liked this day, even on the rare occasion that I actually have a boyfriend in February. I do think it's funny, though, that this whole Hallmark obsession came out of a religious holiday. In my opinion, if you love someone, you should make it a point to show it on any day of the year, not the one one clearly reserved for people who forget about that stuff. It just seems so cliche to do something romantic because it's Valentine's Day; in fact, why not do it because it's NOT Valentine's Day? Sharing your anniversary with a million other cheesy people doesn't really make it special, now does it?

Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, which isn't especially in my nature, so I'll just pass it off as being practical. It just sounds so much nicer.

Last night I saw He's Just Not That Into You with Gini, Katie, and Jill after we went to Aurelios for pizza. It was a really fun night because the four of us are so crazy, and Gini and I don't get to hang out with them all that much, so it was pretty refreshing.

The movie was okay. I wasn't expecting it to be spectacular; actually, I was expecting it to suck. The only couple I was rooting for by the end was Jennifer Aniston/Ben Affleck, who, surprisingly enough, were really cute and had a happy ending. I also felt bad for the woman who got cheated on (Scarlett Johansson plays the "other woman"), she just couldn't catch a break. Overall, though, it had its moments but was mostly incredulous and kind of degrading in a pathetic sort of way.

I think I'm going to go mess around with my camera now. Hopefully I'll keep up with this better than when I started it.
