Needs More Sauce

I was walking home from work the other day, and I passed a guy who was standing on the corner of Swanston St. and Bourke St. He had with him a large clip board, the types that they used to give presentations with before the advent of Microsoft Powerpoint, and he was trying to give a talk. I didn't stop to listen or to look, but it sounded like he was trying to explain why creationism supposedly makes more sense than evolution.
Beliefs aside, surely there's a time and place for stuff like that. And a street corner on a Friday evening is not, in my opinion, a very opportune time or place. The guy had a captivated audience of about a total of 2 people, possibly 3. My guess is that the only people who were listening to him were people who already agreed with him. Although I did remember hearing one of the folks who were listening to him speaking to the guy who was giving the presentation, so maybe they were arguing the premise.
I can't help but think that that whole exercise is just a little futile. People who would listen already know what he's going to say, and people who don't agree probably don't want to listen. It's a bit like walking up to a river and trying to get it to meander in a different direction by pointing. Unless you're pointing in the direction of where the river's already flowing, you're not going to achieve very much. But ah well, he can spend his Friday evening how he wants.

Saw The Simpsons Movie too. Brilliant stuff, that. Was about a laugh a minute. X3 d I have to say, it's kind of nice to watch stuff like that at a cinema, because the atmosphere that's generated when everyone laughs together at the jokes just makes that much more fun. :D Mmm, good times. :3

movie, ramble
