Unsurprisingly I would imagine, I find the claims of fear of retribution and intimidation coming from the Right whenever the Left asked to see their donor lists offensive.
But it recently occurred to me what my real problem is. By supporting the repeal of same-sex marriage or domestic partnership laws, the Right has announced that I, personally, am a bad person simply because of the aspirations I have for my own life. I am so bad a person that laws must be passed to protect society from the life I wish to live.
And they have the gall to stand there and say we don't get to even know who they are because we might say mean things about them?
Here's the deal. If you vote for inequality, you're a bad person. If you donate money to inequality, you're a bad person. If you tell other people that inequality is what this nation needs, you're a bad person. And you don't have a hope in the world of making me think any different of you. If you can't handle being considered a bad person, don't do bad things.
Maggie Gallagher is a liar and, in so much as her lies have been used to raise money from the gullible, a thief. I only wish I could confront her on national television with the accusation so that during the inevitably ensuing slander action she would no doubt threaten at that moment I could prove in a court of law those claims are true.
And if you think your religion shields you from my thinking you're a bad person, remember that I consider Evangelical Christianity to be at the root of every major societal debacle since Urban II decided the knights really needed an eastern Mediterranean holiday.
