So as part of the new year I am committed to restarting a home practice. I have done yoga regularly in a class and have some wonderful reference books. I say this to acknowledge that I have everything I need to be successful at a home practice. It's really about the motivation.

Once upon a time, I accidentally ended up in an acro-yoga class. I had intended to go for Vinyasa Flow, but the studio was doing a special workshop that night at the same time.  I hadn't called ahead, so I gamely tried everything except headstand against the wall. I wonder why when the times I most need to practice, I don't.  If I can successfully cajole myself into the clothes, unroll the mat and pull up the podcast, I'm golden and always feel 180 degrees differently than when I started.

But sometimes, I just don't.  I may do a stretch or two but that's it.

Stress really fucks with the mind.
