little jugs have big ears

With all the changes coming up in The Bun's life (new sibling, new bedroom, possibly new school), J and I and the rest of the family have not mentioned our move to Geneva to him just yet. It's still some time away and I don't think there's any point discussing the concept of the move and what it entails until closer to the date. He has enough to think about and absorb right now and I don't want to rock the boat too much for him.

Even though we don't discuss The Big Move with him, we certainly do discuss it, quite extensively, in front of him. Seems like this is more than enough to sow the seeds of the idea.

The Bun: Mommy, Cat-cat and I are going to take a train ride!
Me: Wow, where to?
The Bun: We're going to big boy school, in Geneva. With Cat-cat.

I don't know how he cottoned on to the idea of going to school there but apparently he did, without any direct input from the adults. He doesn't even know what Switzerland means but he definitely understands that Geneva is a place far away. Funny how kids somehow put the pieces together, and a reminder for J and I to make sure that when we have a small eavesdropper amongst us, he doesn't inadvertently misunderstand us, or get the wrong idea.

quote unquote, the big move, threenager bun
