Twenty-four years ago this weekend, my husband and I moved from NYC to the mountains of rural northern New Hampshire. The week before that we were married by a judge at City Hall with two of his staff as our witnesses. We didn't have a reception; we went shopping to buy things for our house in New Hampshire instead.
