Season Two, Six Episodes

Jul 29, 2015 23:51

I watched six more episodes tonight and because that was rather a lot. my comments will be a bit briefer this time. It was the first time since I started watching that there was an episode that left me cold...only the plot, I'll always love Jared and Jenson whatever the episode.

I got really excited when I saw Tall Tales on your list for the night!

Hunted: Ava is awesome! (The actress is killing it as Margot Verger on Hannibal right now.) She's a cool character.

Playthings: This is a classic spook house episode with a touch of Voodoo. (Love things that deal with Voodoo.) The ending of this episode is great and I love Dean picking on Sam when he's sick, lol.

Nightshifter: LOVE LOVE LOVE this episode. Ronald was awesome and his death broken my heart. The friendship between him and Dean was sweet. I always laugh when Ronald says he doesn't like Sam. The end shots of this episode are perfection.

Houses of the Holy: Yup. Exactly. But the Spongebob altar does make me laugh. :P

Born Under a Bad Sign: GREAT episode. The use of The Doors was excellent and I loved Joe. And Bobby! And posessed!Sam! And the joke about Sam being posessed by a girl, lol.

Tall Tales: THE TRICKSTER!!!! He's another favorite of mine. He's right up there with Bobby. This episode just cracks me up. I love when they do comedy episodes, ( ... )

Oh yes, love Margot Verger on Hannibal.

Sam puking in the john was funny and Dean's comment about the best cure for a hangover is "a greasy pork sandwich served up in a dirty ashtray" cracked me up.

Ronald was so cute with his mandroid obsession and dislike of Sam.

So you felt the same way about Houses of the Holy. You're right about the Spongebob placemate being used as an alter cloth. :D

Yes, Dean's line was funny about Sam being possessed by a girl: Dude, you -- you like, full-on had a girl inside you for like a whole week. That's pretty naughty. That made me laugh out loud.

Both of the guys are terrific at deadpan comedy. The reactions are so great when one says something funny to the other. I've been told that the Trickster will be back. \o/

I love that he just looks at Sam and is all, "but not you. I don't like you." And he says it was so much passion, lol. I've seen that actor in other shows and he's always wonderful.

SPN does a lot of twists on different religions and generally, I like those episodes. But this one, with the glowing/vibrating statues and stuff... it was just silly. And not in a good way.

They're great with straight-up physical humor, too. They do quite a few funny/spoof episodes and they're usually the best.

YUP, the Trickster will be back and he's pretty important. (Not to mention really cute, lol.)

How are you feeling about Bobby now?

Great!

Lovin' him. I knew he looked familiar. He was in Justified and Revolution and he's going to be in Crimson Peak. I can't wait to see that: Jessica Chastain, Charlie Humman and Tom HIddleston. What a cast and it's super creepy.

I love all of these eps. What is it about Houses of the Holy that you didn't like?

What didn't I like? I just found the plot kind of ridiculous...not that most of the plots actually make sense. LOL I liked all the discussion between Sam and Dean about faith and beliefs though. The fellow being skewered by the metal pipe was pretty cool, too.

My favorites from tonight's viewing were Playthings and Born Under a Bad Sign. I loved Jared in the latter.

Well, people do all kinds of strange things in the name of religion, so the plot didn't seem too weird to me, lol.

I liked all the discussion between Sam and Dean about faith and beliefs though.

I'm glad you liked that part of the ep. Sam wanted so badly to believe, because he thought it was the only way he could be saved. I loved when Dean said that he was watching out for Sam.

Playthings and Born Under a Bad Sign are both great eps. I love the scene with drunk Jared, and him pleading with Dean to keep their Dad's promise. Yes, Jared was amazing as demon Meg. The opening scene is so beautifully filmed, with Dean so worried about Sam. The entire ep is fantastic.

Loved that the secret finally gets revealed in Hunted! The end scene of Nightshifter is epic. Tall Tales is hilarious, with the boys telling Bobby their different pov. Great lines, like "slow dancing with an alien", lol.

In the special features Jared said his wrist was already broken in Playthings and they only found out half way through filming. He chose not to get the cast until filming was finished since so much had already been filmed without him wearing it. What a trooper.

BTW, did you make this icon? I don't have it identified in my Photobucket. Dawn thought it was yours.

Hunted - LOVE this whole episode - the explosion scenes were tense! Dean checking Sam to see if he is alright and trying to go after Gordon - Sam telling him it was taken care of <3<3 The talk between Gordon and Dean, as well as Dean and Sam in the car at the end are very meaningful.

Playthings - so did you notice that their room number?I'm pretty sure this is the same as the Shining. I can't watch that scene about the dolls. I get too embarrassed for Sam :P

Nightshifter is one of my most favorite episodes. LOVE the ending with Renegade Styx.

Yes, it is.

Love your GIFs. The one of the boys and Bobby is priceless. I loved it when Bobby compared them to a old married couple with their constant bickering. The same thought has occurred to me a couple of times.

Nightshifter is another one of my all time favourites. Everything just clicks in that episode, at least for me.

Houses of the Holy does have its moments, but I agree with you.

The Piermont Inn playhouse cost $25,000. Wow! I wonder if someone involved with the show got to keep it.

And Dean's fierce protectiveness comes across really well too.

True, but I think Sam feels pretty strongly about Dean, too.

Yes, the boys each telling different versions of what happened in Tall Tales was hilarious.
