I spent most of the year in the office entering prints into the AFIS system and searching for the "bad guys".  It's a marked change from working in the field.  I didn't even see one dead body in 2011.  Of course that doesn't mean there weren't any homicides; it's just that I don't get to see them anymore. I've been with L.A.P.D. for over seven years now.  Around July, I was pulled in from the field to work analytical detail.  This means I am sitting in the office all day starring at fingerprints instead of being out in the field doing the actual investigations.  Some of you may recall this happened to me in 2009 as well, but only for a few months.  ( Read more... )
