On 26 November 2010 the Russian State Duma adopted a resolution "On the Katyn tragedy and its victims" condemning Stalin and his regime of murdering Polish officers in Katyn. Today is a day of mourning for Chechen and Ingush people. In February 1944 Soviet NKVD and KGB troops ousted them from the North Caucasus and sent to Kazakhstan. According to the special commission set up by Nikita Khruschev and to other sources, about 20 million people were imprisoned in the USSR from 1935 to 1940, of whom 7 million were killed.
